Shaking Up Sustainable Farming
9 July 2024 | 2.00pm
Your asks of the new government
With a general election just days before the Great Yorkshire Show, we’ll be asking farmers what they need and what they want from the incoming government. Join us to have your say on how we secure the financial and environmental sustainability of the food system. Join us in the Innovation Zone to debate with fellow farmers, food value chain professionals and a panel of experts how we can establish a more supportive environment for farm businesses. This event is hosted in partnership with Yorkshire Agricultural Society, Newcastle University, Oxbury Bank plc and MHA, the UK member of Baker Tilly International.
This is your opportunity to advise the incoming government how to protect our farming heritage and deliver a sustainable supply of high standard, high welfare and nutritious food. Share your thoughts on supply chain fairness, food security planning, governmental approaches to policy, taxation and funding, agritech innovation, labour shortages, development of green markets, B2B collaboration, food pricing and anything else that affects your business.
After the Show we’ll be delivering a letter to the new team of Defra ministers and the entire front bench, the new EFRA Committee, party leaders and environment spokespeople for all the main political parties, aligned committees in the House of Lords and the media.
Join us in person at the Great Yorkshire Show
